International Diamond Challenge Gives Jamaican Students A Chance To #Start-Up
Kingston, Jamaica- Wednesday, November 23, 2016:
Jamaica is set to host an International preliminary round of the University of Delaware’s HORN program – Diamond Challenge Pitch competition For High School students in February 2017.
The Diamond Challenge will give student entrepreneurs an opportunity to test their ideas and gain solid advice from our mentors.
The challenge was created by the University of Delaware in 2012, and this year will be partnering with Jamaican non-profit organization Next Gen Creators to have an international pitch here in Jamaica.
The winning team will take home over $100,000(JM) and advance to the International Semi-finals in Delaware.
“We are excited to be hosting the Diamond Challenge in Jamaica. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of a strong economy so we want our youth to be involved in growing Jamaica” shared Ja’dan from the Next Gen team.
Here’s how it works:
Students will have to submit their business concepts online:

The live pitch event will also feature Next Gen Creators’ Start-Up Conference.
Participants will interact with existing entrepreneurs who will give talks on their experiences in the fast-paced world of technology startups.
