Fraser-Pryce To Miss Highly Anticipated Shanghai Meet Due to Injury

A minor injury has forced Jamaica’s Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce to pull out of this weekend’s highly anticipated IAAF Diamond League meet in Shanghai, China.

According to the event’s organisers, Fraser Pryce has withdrawn due to a small toe injury.

The ‘Pocket Rocket’ was also absent at last weekend’s Jamaica invitational but she is expected to be race ready soon.

Prior to her injury, Fraser-Pryce was expected to duke it out in the the women’s 200 m event.

Fraser-Pryce said she is disappointed that she cannot compete in Shanghai, as she was looking forward to the meet.

The IAAF Diamond League is an annual series of track and field meetings held from 2010 onwards, beginning with the 2010 IAAF Diamond League.

It was designed to replace the IAAF Golden League, which was held annually since 1998.
