Arson Suspected After Fire Destroys PNP Constituency Office
Police suspect arson after the constituency office of incumbent Member of Parliament for North East St Elizabeth was destroyed by a fire.
According to Loop News, though investigations are not yet advanced, police are theorizing that arsonists may have set fire to the building.
The building is located at Coke Street, opposite to the Police Station in Santa Cruz.
The fire began sometime after 2:00 AM on Wednesday (October 14).
Pryce has been embroiled in political controversy after members of his constituency demonstrated against his stewardship and asked that he be removed as their representative.
His supporters retaliated by seeking and successfully acquiring an injunction in the Supreme Court which effectively postponed an impending vote by delegates in the constituency on whether he should continue as Member of Parliament.
Pryce eventually signalled his intention to step down.
