Jamaican-Born Footballer Raheem Sterling is the Most Valuable Young Player in Europe
According to a recent study, Jamaican born Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is the most valuable young player in Europe.
The talented footballer who has served the roles of winger, attacking midfielder and striker for Premier League club Liverpool has been given a weighted value of £35m by the Soccerex 20 football value index.
The second most valuable young player according to the study is Brazilian defender Marquinhos with a value of £27.8m.
Manchester United’s recent signee Memphis Depay is third with a perceived value of £23.8m.
The study assesses players from all nationalities who are aged under 21 and play in Europe.
It determines their value based on their age, position, club, contract length, market value perception, international caps, minutes played, goals, injuries and technical quality.
“Combining all the factors, we came up with Sterling as the most valuable,” said Esteve Calzada – the author of the study.
