Jamaica’s Young Boyz Hammer Trinidad to Keep World Cup Dream Alive (Highlights)
Jamaica’s young Reggae Boyz whipped Trinidad and Tobago by five goals to one yesterday to keep their Fifa under 17 World Cup qualification dream alive.
A double strike from Tajae Brown helped Jamaica’s boys earn their place in the final day playoffs at the Concacaf under 17 championships in Honduras next Sunday.
After failing to earn three points in a 1-all draw against Cuba in their previous game, the Jamaicans shifted into a higher gear to register their first win over Trinidad at this level.
Jamaica hit the net first courtesy of a Peter Vassell strike in the 39th minute, but Trinidad’s Noah Powder replied with a beautiful equalizer in the 42nd minute with a well taken free kick.
Forward Nathaniel Adamalouken put Jamaica back in front in the 48th minute, before substitue Taje Brown found the back of the net in the 80th minute.
Brown was on target again only five minutes later before another substitute, defender Donovan Dawkins scored with a 90-th minute strike.
Jamaica will face the United States in their final preliminary group game on Wednesday.
