The Sun Newspaper had run a story on the 19-year-old winger on his rise from teenage talent to England star.

Sterling was born in Jamaica but moved with his mother to England aged five, and he remains extremely fond of the country.

Sterling who is now dubbed the golden boy of English football was electrifying again on Monday as England began their European championship qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Switzerland.
