Police investigate reports teenager was buried alive
Two men are now in the custody of police following reports that 16-year-old Ward of the State, Carlene Young was buried alive in a shallow grave in Hague Settlement in the parish of Trelawny.
According to various reports Young and another female Ward of the State ran away from a place of safety, and went to a residence in Hague Settlement, where two men stayed during their time at the home.
Young who is a diabetic reportedly became ill and passed out. After she lost consciousness, the men at the Hague Settlement location believed she was dead, and dragged her body in bushes, where they buried her in a shallow grave.
The other female ward of the state returned to the place of safety, and retold what transpired. A report was subsequently made to the police, who then went to the Hague Settlement area and found the body of Carlene Young which was positively identified after it was exhumed.
Police are now searching for a third suspect in connection with the incident.
