Jamaica’s COVID-19 Tally Rises To 30
Four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Jamaica bringing tally of confirmed cases to 30.
While speaking at a press conference on Friday, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton revealed that an 87 year old woman from Manchester, with a travel history that includes New York, is among the four new confirmed cases.
The others are:
A 51 year old male from St. Catherine with a travel history that includes New York.
A 52 year old male, with no travel history, but is a close contact of a visitor from Canada, who reported ill upon her return to Canada.
A 56 year old man from Manchester with no travel history but who was in contact with tourists from several countries.
Dr. Tufton said 250 tests have so far been conducted for the coronavirus and two are pending.
Globally at least 614,000 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed with at least 28,200 deaths linked to the disease.
To date, there has been one COVID-19 related death in Jamaica.
