JCF Says Six Men Killed By Police Were Gangsters

On Saturday night six men were killed during a shootout with police officers in St James.

Police were reportedly able to seize four firearms, several magazines and a quantity of rounds during the joint Police/military operation which took place at approximately 9 pm.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has now stated via a release that the men who were killed were gangsters.

According to the JCF, the six men killed during the confrontation with the JCF & JDF were members of the ‘Ski-Mask’ gang operating in Montego Bay,St. James.


Dead are Oswyn Jarret o/c ‘Ski-Mask’,Deno Pryce o/c ‘Buju’,Marlon Samuels o/c ‘Brutus’,

‘Shenky’, ‘Fargo’ and the other is unidentified.

The JCF also stated that the ‘Ski Mask’ gang is responsible for several murders in the Barrett Town, Lilliput and a section of the parish known as ‘Africa,’ among other areas in St. James.

The Police regret the loss of lives during the incident and wish to reassure the public that the security forces are committed to carrying out their duties in a professional manner as they work to restore law and order to communities within the parish.

The matter has been reported to the Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI) Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
