Vybz Kartel case thrown out
According to a report by Loop Jamaica, Vybz Kartel’s perverting the course of justice case has been thrown out.
Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn on Wednesday (September 24), entered a nolle prosequi ending the matter on the ground that Vybz Kartel’s murder conviction and sentence is being appealed.
Kartel, Vanessa ‘Gaza Slim’ Sadler, along with Andre ‘Pim-Pim’ Henry, were to be tried on October 27 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The charges relate to the murder in 2011 of Clive ‘Lizard Williams, for which Vybz Kartel and three other men are serving life sentences.
It was alleged that Sadler had been involved in a plan to lead the authorities to believe that Williams was alive at the time that the police believe he was dead in 2011.
The move was an attempt to aid Kartel and his co-accused in the murder trial.
