World Renowned NYC Graffiti Artist wants to repaint Waterford for Vybz Kartel! (VIDEO)
A highly respected Graffiti Artist based in New York City known as AVONE has pledged to repaint the Warterford community in honour of Vybz Kartel and the Gaza Empire.
Vybz Kartel was born and raised in Waterford and is still revered by many in the area.
Following the recent murder conviction of the popular Jamaican entertainer, police officers in the Waterford community launched an aggressive campaign to remove all Gaza related graffiti.
In an exclusive interview for The Jamaican Blogs™ AVONE shared why he is willing to venture into the volatile community to repaint it for the incarcerated entertainer.
He believes the removal of the murals represents dictatorship and takes away the voice of the people.
He also hinted at the possibility of teaming up with Jamaican Graffiti Artist LA Lewis to assist with the paintings.

The once illegal graffiti artist has now built himself an impressive and extensive resume for his spectacular illustrations. He has done work for the likes of Michael Jordan, ESPN, HBO and many others.

Does he understand that Waterford is not Vybz Kartel’s personal property and so it is subject to the laws of the land?
The walls would belong to either private citizens or the parish council and he would need their permission to paint on the walls. Isn’t that so?
