According to a report by Irie FM, the police in St. James are probing at least four separate murders, which took place over a 24 hour period.
In the latest incident, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody following a domestic dispute which resulted in the death of another in Anchovy yesterday morning (May 27).
Dead is 21-year-old Romaine Burnett of Anchovy.
Reports are that about minutes after two o’clock this afternoon, the two men said to be relatives were involved in a dispute, when a knife was brought into play.
Burnett was stabbed. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Meanwhile, the police say they are searching for two men in connection with the shooting death of two taxi operators, and the wounding of two passengers in Montego Bay, St. James, last night (May 26).
Those killed are, 27-year-old, Jodie Phillips, and 48-year-old, Roy James, both of Paradise, Norwood, in the parish.
Two males, aged 21 and 30, who were passengers in one of the taxi’s, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Reports are that about 10:40 last night, Phillips and James, who operated robot taxis, were parked along St. James Street, when two men approached and opened fire, hitting the two taxi operators, and two passengers.
And, a 14-year-old female was stabbed to death allegedly by a 17-year-old girl in Granville last night (May 26).
Dead is Ashley Morris of Santoy District Hanover, while the accused teen has been taken into custody.
Morris was reportedly staying with relatives in Granville at the time of her death.
Irie FM News understands that the girls were involved in a dispute over a man.
