An online petition to the Barack Obama led Administration in the United States seeking a retrial for Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel who was found guilty of the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams last week has been removed.
The petition stated: “Jamaican Dancehall Artiste Vybz Kartel did not get the fair trial he deserved.
Evidence has been tampered with in his case by the law enforcement of Jamaica.
He was found guilty before his trial started. Everyone deserves a fair trial whether they reside in the US or not.
United States need to investigate the corruption in this case.”
The petition was created on March 15, 2014, and had already accrued hundreds of signatures.
We can’t say we are exactly surprised the petition was removed.
