BREAKING NEWS: Vybz Kartel Found Guilty of Murder!

The wait is finally over!

Fans of the ‘worl boss’  will now be saddened after hearing that Vybz Kartel has been found Guilty of murder.

Adidja Azim Palmer, more popularly known as ‘Vybz Kartel‘ or the ‘worl boss‘ to his most loyal fans has been through a lot over the past two plus years, and that is putting it mildly.

His nightmarish ordeal began in September of 2011 when he was charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

The allegations were that on Monday, July 11, 2011, Palmer, along with other men, conspired to murder Barrington Burton o/c ‘Bossie’, a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine.

He was later found not guilty but was shortly after slapped with a second murder charge for allegedly participating in the beating death of his friend Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams (pictured below)over the disappearance of two guns.

Clive Lizard WIlliamsAlthough he was not found guilty of any crime since that time, he was forced to remain confined to his prison cell and to attend numerous court hearings only to hear his scheduled dates for trial were postponed time and time again.

Staying Relevant

Despite being behind bars for over two years, the talented entertainer managed to retain his status as one of Jamaica’s most relevant participants in the sphere of Dancehall.

He co-authored and published a book entitled ” The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto” that received critical acclaim from many highly respected entities.

The book was also adopted by the prestigious Princeton University libraries. There were even discussions among many high ranking education officials of including the book in the local school curriculum.

His incarceration also did not stop him from churning out hit after hit.  His presence remained strong over the airwaves and  in club settings from behind bars.

One of his more recent music videos entitled “Hi” is a good example of why he has not phased out of memory for most persons that are familiar with his music.

The creative song with its catchy lyrics is complemented by an awesome video that features a 3D animated Vybz Kartel that has gestures that mimic the real character’s gestures quite well. (See video below:)

In the end, his trial for the murder of Clive Williams became  the longest criminal trial in a circuit court in Jamaica’s history spanning a total of 65 days.

The trial had more twists and turns than any roller-coaster ride.

From damning audio and text messages that made conviction seem like almost a certainty, to the back and forth debates about the credibility of witnesses and police officers.

In the end 10 jurors voted for guilt and one for innocence. His co accused received the following verdicts:

Shawn Campbell – Guilty

Kahira Jones – Guilty

Andre St. John – Guilty

Shane Williams – Not Guilty

No one is above the law, n these guys forget that fact. They don’t care about the bad reputation the country gets. Maybe if more misers are solved n people get executed for muder more often then tourist will see Jamaica as a safe place again to spend longer vacation. Jamaican law can be the key to solving senseless crimes. Speaking from experience my father was mustered in JA still unsolved. Bless up to the court system for finally having some balls.
