Police presence heightened at courthouse as Vybz Kartel trial approaches its end
As the high profile murder trial involving Dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel draws to an end, there was an increased police presence in the area surrounding the Supreme Court in downtown Kingston this morning.
Blockades were seen along King Street and church Street from parade leading to the court house.
Armed officers were seen around the court house vicinity along with extra officers seen inside the building.
Meanwhile, lead prosecutor Jeremy Taylor; in his closing arguments encourages the jury look at the evidence surrounding this as a whole and not in individual elements.
He says that the jury should look at the facts, which are that Clive Williams is dead and that one or more, if not all the accused are responsible for Williams’ death.
Vybz Kartel, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams are on trial for Clive Williams’ murder.
If convicted the men could face life imprisonment.
