Mother of 5 dies following shootout involving Police
5 children are now will now have to mourn the loss of their mother. Her untimely death, a result of a shootout involving police officers.
According to a report from the Gleaner, the 44-year-old woman was shot and killed this morning in a controversial incident involving police officers.
The dead woman has been identified as Jacqueline Stone, of an Oxford Street address in Kingston.
According to the police, a team was on patrol in the Georges Lane area of central Kingston when they came under heavy gunfire.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) says the policemen returned fire in an attempt to preserve their lives.
When the shooting ended Stone was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital where she died.
According to the CCN, there is no indication yet whether the bullet that killed Stone was fired by the police or criminals.
Angry residents are disputing the police’s account.
According to the residents, the woman was shot by the police along Laws Street, but managed to make her way to Oxford Street where the police caught up with her and shot her again.
