Entertainment Industry Mourns Killing of Popular Producer

Members of the Jamaican and international entertainment fraternity are saddened by the murder of popular producer Roach.

Roach, who was poised for a major international breakthrough, produced rhythms such as Siren, Overproof and most recent Overtime which features a collab with Mavado and rapper Nicki Minaji.

The Dancehall fraternity has reacted swiftly with messages of condolences.

Mavado tweeted, “Rest in Paradise mi bredda Roach, a nu just now. A nuff help u help mi ina music from before mi buss til now, mi an nuff other ghetto youth.”

Roach made his last cameo in Assassin’s Shell music video. Assassin aka Agent Sasco remembers Roach as someone who cared greatly for the music.

Female dancehall deejay Lady Saw who has worked with Roach says she’ll always love him.

Roach who was formerly Vybz Kartel’s road manager made headlines in 2011 when he teamed up with Justus Arison for the popular rhythms ‘Overproof’ and ‘Overtime’.

Justus, posted via twitter, “Rest in peace, Patrick Roach Samuels. My brother and partner inna music. Legendary producer and songwriter. Not to mention comedian. Roller. Father. Survivor. One of the realest people mi ever know in life. Gone too soon. Live on forever thru your many youths and music.”

Producer Roach was reportedly at the gas station at Mary Brown’s corner at 4:15 Sunday morning when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle.

Roach attempted to drive away, but more shots were fired at him. He later crashed along a section of Mannings Hill Road.
