Good Samaritan Slain in Westmoreland

A man who was allegedly attempting to aid a family who was trapped in their burning house was shot and killed by gunmen in little London, Westmoreland, last evening.

The dead man has been identified as 54-year-old, Leroy Robinson of Mcneils Lane in the parish.

Reports from the police are that about 8:30 p.m., Robinson was among three men who allegedly rushed to the aid of a woman and her son who were trapped in a blazing house. Investigators believe the fire was set by arsonists.

While attempting to rescue the occupants, he was shot multiple times by gunmen. The occupants however, escaped unhurt.


Another man who was shot at managed to escape unhurt.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information that can assist in bringing the Good Samaritan’s killers to justice to come forward.
