On Tuesday night gunmen reportedly attacked and killed a police officer as he arrived at his home in Portmore, St Catherine.

The deceased officer is Constable Nicaldo Green, 29, assigned to the Stadium Police.

Green was reportedly shot, and relieved of his firearm shortly after entering his house.

Police say the gunmen then made good their escape in a red motor car.

Many persons have already taken to social media to express grief and shock since his untimely passing.

“R.I.P uncle Nicaldo Green. I still have not shed a tear. It hurts so much I really cannot express how I feel at this moment. Uncle you will always be in my heart,” commented one person on Facebook.

“Just visited the Stadium Police to express my condolences to the colleagues of Cons. Nicaldo Green. Let us remember his family and colleagues in our prayers,” wrote another.
