15 Jamaicans In Action Today At London World Championships

15 Jamaicans will be in action on today at the London World Championships.

And Jamaica’s double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson will undoubtedly be aiming to claim the island’s first gold medal at the 2017 championships when she competes in the women’s 100-metres.

Thompson booked her spot in the semifinals with an 11.05 clocking. 

Jura Levy, Natasha Morrison, and Simone Facey are the other Jamaicans who earned a spot in the semi-finals.

  

Levy and Morrison both earned automatic spots while Facey qualified among the fastest losers.

Levy, with a time of 11.09 and Morrison (11.21) both finished third in their heats, while Facey finished fourth in her heat with an 11.29 clocking. – The women’s 100m semi-finals will begin at 1:10 pm (local time) and the final will take place at 3;50 pm (local time).
