Bolt Wins 100m Diamond League Sprint Ahead Of World Championships

On Friday the world’s fastest man – Usain Bolt won the men’s 100m event at the Diamond League meet in Monaco.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist clocked 9.95, his fastest time this season to cross the line ahead of the American athlete Isiah Young and Akani Simbine of South Africa.

Despite having an uninspiring start, Bolt found a higher gear to edge in-front of the field to claim victory.

Bolt should be feeling quite confident ahead of next month’s World Championships, where he will face the Canadian star Andre De Grasse.

In June De Grasse clocked a wind-aided time of 9.69 seconds to win the 100-metre race at the Diamond League event in Stockholm, Sweden.

The IAAF World Championships London will take place between August 4-13.
