Substation Fire Plunges Sections of St Ann Into Darkness

Lights Out in St Ann!

Several areas of St Ann were plunged into darkness on Saturday night (June 24) as a result of a fire at a substation in the parish.

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) revealed via a statement that a fire at the Cardiff Hall Substation resulted in several customers in the parish losing power supply.

The areas affected by the substation fire are: Runaway Bay, Discovery Bay, Salem, Queens Highway, James Hill, Bohemia, Cave Valley, Nine Miles, Watt Town Aenon and surrounding areas.

  

The  JPS says remedial work is currently underway  and restoration to all affected areas is expected before midday today (June 25).
