Sunshine Girls Suffer First Ever Defeat to Barbados

On Monday night (May 22), Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls suffered their first ever defeat to Barbados.

Jamaica lost the game 43-41 despite amassing a six-goal lead early in the third quarter.

The Bajan Gems however proved to be quite resilient and reduced the deficit to 32-31 at the end of the third quarter.

And the fourth quarter saw the teams level at 35-35 with just a few minutes remaining on the clock.

But it was Barbados who performed better in the clutch final few minutes of the encounter.

The Gems completed five turnovers in the last two minutes of the game to earn their first ever victory over the Sunshine Girls.

The match was the third game in a three-match test series, and the result means that the series has been levelled at 1-1 as the first game ended in a draw.
