Three Records Smashed on First Day of ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships

The opening day of the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and girls Athletics Championships saw three records being smashed.

Kimar Farquharson  – representing Calabar broke the boys class two 800 meters winning the first heat in 1 minute 51.26 seconds.

His time improved Aldwyn Sappleton’s two decade-old mark of 1:52.27 set back in 1997.

And prior to that, the girls class two 100 meters hurdles record was broken twice.

  

Britney Andreson of Vere Technical first clocked 13.37 seconds to better the mark set by Peta gaye Williams of Camperdown (13.38 seconds) in the first heat.

However in the following heat Shannette Allison of Holmwood technical shattered Anderson’s mark to  clock 13.30 seconds.

Brianna Lyston of St Jago was also among those smashing records.

Lyston clocked 24.00 seconds flat in the girls’ 200 metres to lower the previous mark of 24.21 seconds set by her schoolmate Joanne Reid back in 2015.
