Police Issue Over 100 Traffic Tickets in Single Day During St Ann Operation

On Wednesday, over 100 traffic tickets were reportedly issued to motorists in the parish of St Ann during an operation led by the Highway and Traffic Division.

Superintendent Courtney Coubrie revealed that the majority of the tickets were issued for safety devices, such as seat-belts though some were issued for a variety of traffic violations.

The operation focused on the Llandovery main road where fifteen individuals perished in motor vehicles accidents last year.

He is quoted by RJR as saying:

“We thought it prudent that we would have been proactive coming here to give the motorists a gentle reminder to traverse this stretch of road with the utmost care.”

“So far, our effort has yielded 178 traffic tickets and 43 pairs of registration plates have been removed from motor vehicles that were found to be defective”.
