At Least 5 Sex Abuse Cases Involving Children Encountered at St Ann’s Bay Hospital Weekly Says Nurse

A distressing number of children who are victims of sexual abuse are being encountered at the St Ann’s Bay Hospital.

A nurse who is employed at the hospital has reportedly disclosed that at least five cases involving children are being encountered each week at the facility.

She made the shocking disclosure on Saturday  during a violence against women and children march, which was put on by the Nurses’ Association of Jamaica (NAJ).

And Carmen Johnson, the nurse and departmental manager at St Ann’s Bay Hospital, reportedly stated that the increase in the number of children being sexually abused has become alarming.

  

She also revealed that some of the children who are being affected are as young as three years old.
