Jamaica Welcomes World’s Largest Cruise Ship

Harmony of the Seas docks in Jamaica!

The world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas will today make its inaugural call to Jamaica at Falmouth’s Cruise Shipping Port in Trelawny.

The cruise liner is expected to bring over 6,000 passengers to the island.

Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett recently stated that the arrival of the Royal Caribbean ship is a result of meticulous planning for the development of the Falmouth cruise port to accommodate mega liners.

Mr. Bartlett also stated that plans are being formulated to facilitate the docking of Harmony of the Seas on one side and an Oasis of the Seas (3rd largest cruise ship) on the other side.

MS Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship built by STX France at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France for Royal Caribbean International.

Her gross tonnage of 226,963 GT, makes her the largest passenger ship in the world, surpassing her older sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.
