Powell Finishes 2nd to Gatlin in Eugene Diamond League 100m

The sub 10 king of the world, Asafa Powell had to settle for second place in a 100m run at the the Eugene Diamond League held in Oregon, USA, on Saturday.

His competition included American rivals Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, Mike Rodgers and Canada’s Andre De Grasse.

Powell was able to cross the finish line in 9.94 seconds behind Gatlin’s 9.88.

The American sprinter’s time however will not be considered a legal time due to wind assistance.

  

In third place was Tyson Gay (9.98) while Mike Rodgers came in 4th in a time of 9.99 seconds.
