Four Clarendon Teachers Held For Sexual Offences Involving Underage Children

Senior Superintendent Fitz Bailey, Head of the Clarendon Police Division wants changes to be made in how teachers are hired.

This follows the recent arrest of four teachers employed to high schools in Clarendon. They were held for sexual offences involving underage children.

According to RJR, Bailey states:

“Within less than one month , we have arrested four teachers from at least three high schools and the arrests came out of allegations of these teachers having sexual intercourse with persons under the age of 16. We have had one case of indecent assault and one case of sexual touching of a child.”

He also referenced another sexual offence case in the parish involving a boy.

“We also had an incident in which a 15 year old child was forced by his father to engage in sexual activity at a cost . At least two men have been identified in relation to this along with the father. The money obtained in the act is said to be used by the father to maintain himself as well as sending the child to school.”

Bailey also disclosed that two persons have been arrested including the father of the child while a third suspect is being sought.
