Chris Gayle Out Of Big Bash Following Fresh Sexism Claims

Star West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has reportedly lost his contract with the Big Bash League (BBL) after making lewd comments to Charlotte Edwardes, a journalist for The Times Magazine (UK).

According to an article recently published by The Times, Gayle asked Edwardes how many black men she has ‘had’ and wants to know if she has ever had a threesome. ‘I bet you have. Tell me,’ he reportedly stated.

In the article, Edwardes also claims that Gayle made comments about whether she dyes her hair, while lowering his eyes downwards.

Gayle also claims to have “a very, very big bat, the biggest in the wooorld,” before adding: “You think you could lift it? You’d need two hands.” according to the article.

We’ll unveil our international signings soon and Chris isn’t part of those plans,” Coventry was quoted saying.

Earlier this year Gayle sparked global controversy after he asked then-Network Ten reporter Mel McLaughlin out for a drink on live TV.

During a live interview, Gayle stated:

“I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well … That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time.”

“Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don’t blush baby.”

His utterances resulted in him being fined $10,000.
