Frightening Discovery! Highly Explosive C4 Found in Trench Town

The Jamaica Defence Force, JDF, yesterday raised  concerns about the discovery of a highly explosive plastic material known in military circles as C-4 or composition-4.

The material was reportedly found during a joint police-military operation in the inner-city community of Trench Town, South St. Andrew on Thursday.

According to Nationwide, the explosive material was found in an 18 inch tube during a cordon and search operation in the ceiling of a house on Lower Second Street.

A 12 Gauge Shotgun was with two cartridges was also discovered.

The clay like substance is considered to be one of the most powerful non-nuclear explosives in the world and is commonly used by soldiers who pack it into cracks and crevices to blow up heavy walls.

Less than a pound of C-4 could potentially kill several people and several military issued M112 blocks of C-4, weighing about 1.25 pounds (half a kilogram) each, could potentially demolish a truck.

Because of its stability and sheer destructive power, C-4 has attracted the attention of terrorists and guerilla fighters all over the world.
