8 Yr-Old Primary School Dies While Waiting For Heart Transplant

An eight-year-old girl who was in dire need of a new heart reportedly died earlier this week, leaving the community of Little London, Westmoreland in mourning.

According to Loop News, Danielle, who had dreams of becoming a teacher, has been praised by family, friends and those who got to know her as an optimistic fighter and a “genuine joy to be around.”

Though her health declined rapidly in the final moments of her young life, Danielle remained optimistic, but due to her passing, a dream is all that will remain.

As Jamaicans learnt of her untimely passing, tributes have poured in on social media.

One post read “Please make a dream me a dream. Little Danielle you really gone? I remember those days when you use to make me laugh. Surely going to miss you.”

Another read, “RIP little Danielle. God knows best he saw what you were going through and stretched out his arms and called you. Rest in paradise little girl.”

The community attempted to raise funds for Leslie’s heart transplant through round robins, walks, can-donation drives and even setting up an open account for donations.
