She has been sensational thus far and today Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson registered another blistering time to win her 200m semi-final race at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

Thompson once again showed her superiority by comfortably winning her semi-final race in an impressive time of 22.13 seconds despite slowing down considerably to secure her place in the final.

The final race may prove to be more difficult for Thompson to conquer however as she faces the Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers who has shown that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Schippers finished second to Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the women’s 100 metres final with a time of 10.81 seconds and easily won her semi-final race in the women’s 200 metres with a time of 22.36 seconds.

Sherone Simpson and Veronica Campbell Brown will also participate in the final after clocking times of 22.53 and 22.47 seconds respectively.
