Bolt Wins 200m Heat in 20.28s at World Championships

Running in lane four Jamaica’s Usain Bolt comfortably won his heat in the 200 metres at the IAAF World Championships being held in Beijing China today.

It proved to be an exhibition run for Bolt who looked phenomenal.

After taking his foot off the gas with about 60 metres to spare, he clocked a time of 20.28 seconds ahead of Roberto Skyers of Cuba (20.29) and Yancarlos Martinez of the Dominican Republic (20.34).

Jamaican athlete Nickel Ashmeade also qualified for the semifinals from his heat with a time of 20.40seconds.

  

Ashmeade was bested by American athlete Justin Gatlin who comfortably won that heat in 20.19 seconds.

Both Warren Weir and Julian Forte were 2nd in their heats with times of 20.24 and 20.16s respectively.
