Jamaica Defeated by the US in 4x100m World Relays

An incredible second leg by Justlin Gatlin gave the Americans the headroom they needed to cross the finish line ahead of Jamaica in the 4x100m final at the second IAAF World Relay Championships at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, last night.

Good runs from Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade and Usain Bolt on the final two legs could not close the 5 metre gap Gatlin had created during his leg.

The Americans clocked an impressive time of 37.38 seconds, finishing just ahead of Jamaica with 37.68 seconds.

Japan came third after running a time of 38.20 seconds.
