Wheelchair Bound Man Crushed to Death by Bus in St Andrew

At approximately 1:00 pm yesterday a physically challenged artist from Cheshire Village located in St. Andrew was crushed to death by a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus.

According to the Observer, 39-year-old man Marlon King was travelling along Golden Avenue in his wheelchair when he was hit by the massive vehicle.

His body was reportedly dragged several metres from his wheelchair by the bus.

An eyewitness on the scenece told the popular newspaper:

  

“Have mercy, all now me can’t believe what happen. The man was travelling along the road when all of a sudden mi hear the loud crash. When mi look is the body mi see behind the bus”.

Hundreds of onlookers gathered at the accident scene where the remains of King laid in a pool of blood.

The gruesome event left teachers and students at a nearby school traumatised.

The JUTC has expressed regret at yesterday’s fatal accident.
