Jamaican-born Liverpool player could become one of the most recognizable stars at World Cup!

This as England national team kit suppliers Nike are hoping to utilize Sterling’s appeal in their global marketing strategy at the tournament in Brazil.

The sportswear giants want the teenager, who already has a sponsorship deal with them, to feature in advertisements promoting Nike England merchandise in the lead-up to the tournament as they look to cash in on the World Cup.

Sterling spent the first few months of this season on the peripheries of the Liverpool team but a rapid transformation in his form has resulted in him getting an international recall for next week’s friendly against Denmark.

Should he continue his progress, the 19 year old has a major chance of being named in the England squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The speedy winger earned his England senior team debut in a November 2012 friendly against Sweden but theoretically could still opt to play for Jamaica as he has not played a competitive match for the 1966 World Cup winners.
