Tessanne, already a fan favorite on The Voice after progressing through a blind audition, a battle round and a knockout, left no doubt regarding her legitimacy as a top contender to win the talent show with a flawless set during the show’s live performance round. Following nine performers and a bevy of anticipation, the Hideaway singer showcased herself as not only as arguably the best performer of the night, but tapped into her undoubted superstar potential that looks certain to be fulfilled, regardless of the show’s outcome. Adding a bit of ‘yard’ flavor to the proceedings, Tessanne paid homage to one of her biggest mentors, legendary Reggae singer, Jimmy Cliff by performing his greatest hit, Many Rivers To Cross. Having performed covers of pop hits by Kelly Clarkson, Emeli Sande and Pink in previous rounds, her switch to a more familiar sound only ingratiated her with audience members and judges that much more, belting out every high note effortlessly and leaving every bit of emotion on the stage. Though several of her supporters and herself were moved to tears following this set, the judges were not surprised by her effort, particularly judge, Christina Aguilera.” As amazing and incredible as that was, I was not surprised. I knew you were capable of those soaring vocals, I am a fan,” said Christiana.

Lady Saw

Lady Saw, Lady saw twitter, Female DJFemale Dancehall artiste Lady Saw recently shot the music video for the remix of her hit song ‘Heels On’, which features American rapper Flo Rider. The video was filmed in Miami and is said to signal Lady Saw’s return to the international music scene. The music video for Heels On, the remix, will be released later this month and is directed by international video directors Evan Winter and FBI films, distributed and promoted by Zojack World-wide as well as Lady Saw’s personal public-relations team. Lady Saw’s publicist, Kaylia Williams, told E Zone that fans of the artiste are eager to see the final product in coming weeks. She also says the song has been getting a positive feedback from music enthusiasts. Lady Saw is booked for Sting 30th Anniversary and promises to deliver her usually strong set.

Gyptian

Gyptian Jamaica, ,Gyptian dancehallThis week, Gyptian’s brand new album Sex, Love and Reggae debuts at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart and at #24 on the Billboard Heatseekers/Top New Artist Album chart. On the heels of his Sex, Love and Reggae Tour across the United States, the Jamaican singer is elated with the news. “It is a real honor to hold the top spot in the reggae category. We worked hard on this album and it represents me to the fullest. I want to thank all my fans who support me each day to do what I do best,” proclaims Gyptian in an interview with Courtney Mac. In addition to his fans, critics have begun to sing their praises about Sex, Love and Reggae. Associated Press calls the collection “creative and courageous” and feels “Sex Love and Reggae will easily put Gyptian at the forefront of contemporary reggae music.” “It’s all about being versatile,” Gyptian says of the album, and his perspective on music overall. “For me, there’s no boundaries in music. Pick one and there is a Gyptian song in that category for you.”

Ward 21 Dutty Fowl riddim

Ward21, dancehall groupKnown for their hard hitting beats and catchy melodies, Ward 21 has always been the group that injects the fun in dancehall music. With the release of their latest project, Dutty Fowl riddim, they have continued on that path. The group who stormed on to the dancehall scene in 1999 with their smash hit Bada Bada riddim, have seen their new project already being heavily rotated by various radio disc jocks who have found it to be both entertaining and dancehall authentic. The Dutty Fowl Riddim features acts like Ward 21 and Timberlee, other acts featured on the new rhythm are fast rising artiste Point O with songs like “Cyaa Stop” which also features Marcy Chin, Point O is also featured in “Nothing Unusual” with Ward 21 and Dee Wunn, artiste like LOC and CK are also featured on the riddim and have been working extensively to promote their tracks.

  

E Zone Updates

Dancehall deejay Mad Cobra is asking Sting organizers to pay him US$50,000 if they want him to perform at the annual Boxing Day stage show. Reports are that, Cobra who is expected to be in Europe at around the time of Sting, he has heard talks of clash and though interested, he is adamant that the organizers pay the $50,000US price tag. In an interview with Cobra, he explains that the reason for this charge is because he has an engagement in Europe on the same day that Sting will be held, where promoters have already paid him apart of his fee. He continued by saying that he is willing to negotiate with the promoters in Europe to perform on Sting upon return of their down payment but only if the promoters Stings pays him the $50,000 US. Sting 2013 is scheduled to be held on Boxing Day,December 26. Already confirmed for the renowned stage show celebrating its 30thanniversary are: Super Cat, Mavado and American rapper 2Chainz.

RDX

RDX dancehall, RDX JamaicaDancehall duo RDX is thankful following a motor vehicle accident in Amsterdam a few days ago Courtney Mac understands that the duo was on their way to a board flight when the vehicle they were traveling in skid and collided in a curb.  In an interview, RDX tells that they are not injured and is traveling to Poland for the continuation of the 2013 RDX Bangers European tour. RDX is the latest Dancehall entertainers to involve in an accident outside of Jamaica. Just weeks ago, Macka Diamond was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the French Caribbean island of Martinique.

Elephant Man

Elephant manThe entertainer, who is on a charge of rape, had his bail extended recently, until November 29 in the Home Circuit Court. The new date was set after the prosecution informed the court that the case-file for the accused could not be located. The charge stemmed from an incident which took place in St Andrew of January last year. It’s alleged that a woman filed a police report claiming that Elephant Man sexually assaulted her.

E Zone International

International sources have reported that Eminem’s childhood home, the same house he used as the picture on the cover of his new album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”, was badly burned in a fire recently. The 767 square foot, 2-story bungalow located near 8 Mile in Detroit sustained damage to the second floor. Fire crews were able to put out the flames before it spread to the rest of the home. It’s unclear how the fire began.
