Reggae Boy Returns Positive Test Result

The Jamaica Football Federation is confirming news  that a member of the local Reggae Boyz squad had returned an adverse analytical finding on his urine sample during the World Cup qualifying match between Honduras and Jamaica on June 11.

The release issued by the JFF says the testing was carried out by FIFA, meaning the ensuing process will be managed by FIFA. The player has been informed and they await further information from the world governing body. Jamaica Football Federation

It further stated that the JFF has taken the matter seriously, and that a thorough investigation is currently underway by the chairman of the JFF Medical Committee.

The original story was first aired on IRIE Fm on Tuesday July 17, 2013 and came on the heels of reports that five Jamaican athletes returned adverse analytic findings on samples given earlier this year.
