St. Catherine Mom Offered Bail After Pouring Boiling Water on Son

Christine Campbell, a 34 year old resident of Kitson Town, St Catherine yesterday pleaded guilty to pouring boiling water on her 13-year-old son .

She was charged for assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and breaches under the child care and protection act and submitted her plea in the Spanish Town RM Court yesterday.

The incident happened on April 6, when the teen disobeyed her orders not to go on the road.

She later tied the teen to a Soursop Tree and left to boil some hot water. Upon her return,she poured the boiling water down the throat of the teen.

  

A report was then made to the police, and she was subsequently arrested.

She is scheduled to return to court on June 18 after being offered $60,000 bail.

The teen now resides in a place of shelter.
