Seven Jamaicans in action on MLS opening day 2013

Seven Jamaicans will be in action on the opening day of the 18th season of Major League Soccer which kicks off on March 2, 2013.

Omar Cummings and Tyrone Marshall will both line up for Colorado Rapids who play away to FC Dallas, while Shavar Thomas could feature for Montreal Impact who are also on the road away to Seattle Sounders.

Elsewhere Jermaine Taylor and Je-Vaugh Watson will both suit up for beaten finalists Houston Dynamo who open at home against DC United.

Darren Mattocks, the other Jamaican in action on the opening day, will feature for Vancouver Whitecaps against FC Toronto.

  

The first meeting of Jamaicans on opposing teams will take place on March 3 when Khari Stephenson and the San Jjose Earthquakes go up against Lovell Palmer and his Real Salt Lake team

Another 2 Jamaicans, Ryan Johnson and Donovan Rickets will also be in action that day for Portland Timber against New York Red Bulls, while two-times defending champions LA Galaxy will open their season with a home game against the Chicago fire at the Home Depot Center.
